In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight Ephesians 1:7–8 (ESV)
The supply of the grace of God is inexhaustible!
“Grace, grace, God’s grace! Grace that is greater than all my sins.”
When God gives His grace to His children, He doesn’t spare His resources. On the contrary, He “lavishes” His grace on us!
In the Southern United States there’s another term that is similar, it’s the word “slather”. It’s usually used when applying something to another item. So when I read about God “lavishing His Grace”, I picture my soul being overwhelmingly covered with grace. A slathering that makes it obvious that He has generously done so.
