Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. Ephesians 5:15-21 ESV
Back in February my position with my previous employer was eliminated (restructured). I was blessed to get a new opportunity with a great software company, but it wouldn’t start until May 20th. So for 3 plus months I have found myself with a lot of waiting time on my hands. At first it was all about finding another job, then a few interviews and then the new job offer. The rest of the time seems to have blown by like a maple leaf in a hurricane.
As I am about to start the new position this Monday I am reflecting on the past few months to ask myself if I have “made the best use of the time”.
